Tom’s approach to healing includes providing cognitive behavioral therapy, self-help/self-care counseling, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and experiential therapy for clients suffering from PTSD. Tom works with many people addicted to alcohol and drugs and helps them down the path to recovery.
Tom has worked in mental health for more than 25 years in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He prefers to help clients find what works best for them in order to attain balance in their lives and achieve self-satisfaction. Building trust and safety is perhaps the most critical aspect of providing meaningful counseling, according to Tom. He encourages clients to take charge of what they believe in and choose to act upon.
Tom has a master of science in community counseling from National Louis University and a bachelor of science from Northern Illinois University. Tom is a licensed clinical professional counselor with certifications in alcohol and drug addiction counseling. He is also a board registered co-occurring substance-use and mental-health-disorder professional.
Our experienced, licensed staff is dedicated to providing professional care with compassion. Our therapists use a holistic approach to healing in a safe, comfortable environment. While each member of our staff brings his or her own personal technique to counseling, patients can be sure they’re in good hands. At Magnolia Mental Health, we make every effort to match each patient with the therapist whose experience aligns with the individual’s needs.
